Nagios XI

Nagios XI is a Monitoring tool to monitor servers, Networks, Services and Network infrastructure at the low price. In the last article, we knew about the installation of Nagios on CentOS 7/RHEL 7.
In this article, we will be known about the installation of Nagios XI on CentOS7/RHEL 7. Nagios XI have many features when compared to Nagios core. With Nagios XI we can get the Nagios Mobile APP, Nagvis support, DataBase Backend, Configuration Wizards, Audit Logging and Email and phone Support.

Login as root and change to /tmp directory by using cd command

[root@localhost ~]# cd /tmp

Now Download the latest version of Nagios XI from their official site.

#wget wget http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/xi-latest.tar.gz


Now extract and change to that directory as follows

#tar -xzvf xi-latest.tar.gz
#cd nagiosxi/

Now run the fullinstall, It will create the user nagios, group nagcmd and also install all the dependencies and configurations. I will install Nagios Core, Plugins, Databases for Backend and NRPE etc.

#./fullinstall


Once the installation completes we will get the screen as follows

You can access the Nagios XI web interface by visiting:
    http://10.10.16.191/nagiosxi/

[root@localhost nagiosxi]# 

Now access Nagios XI Web interface in your favorite browser by using URL http://ip-address/nagiosxi

Fill the details like Administrator Name, Email address to receive alerts, password to login into the Web console and Time Zone then click on Next to Continue.

Click on Login to Nagios XI to access the Nagios XI web console. This Trail version of Nagios XI, its valid for 60days.

Now Authenticate with username and password, we will get the Nagios XI dashboard.

We can get thenhost details by clicking on the host Details option on the left sidebar.
